An extinguisher program covers more than the can on the wall. We sell the correct class of extinguisher for the hazard it is protecting, inspect the full inventory on a set schedule, maintain and recharge units that have been discharged or have aged out of their service interval, and replace anything that fails. Placement across a facility is checked against travel distance and hazard class at the same time, because a fully charged extinguisher in the wrong spot fails an inspection just as surely as an empty one.
Monthly walkthrough, annual service
Two different checks apply to the same extinguisher. A monthly visual walkthrough confirms the unit is in place, the gauge reads charged, the pin and seal are intact and the access is not blocked. An annual maintenance inspection goes further, a full internal check performed by a licensed technician who tags the unit with the date of service. Both matter, and a building that only does one of them is not actually covered.

Texas licenses fire extinguisher technicians by class of work. Our roster carries FEL-B licences for the general service, recharge and hydrostatic-test side of the work, and FEL-K licences for kitchen suppression and Class K units, which behave differently under heat than an ordinary dry-chemical extinguisher. Cole Parker holds the FEL-K registration on staff.

Placement, travel distance, and the right class for the hazard.
An extinguisher has to be reachable within a set travel distance of the hazard it covers, and the class rating printed on the label has to match what is actually in the room, an ordinary combustible, a flammable liquid, an energized electrical panel or a commercial kitchen. Getting the class wrong is a worse outcome than getting the count wrong, because the wrong agent on the wrong fire can make it worse.
